About Jojoy

JoJoy is a catalog of modified Android apps and games. Each listing collects the details you need before you install: the version, file size, required Android version, package name and the changes the build is labeled with.

The builds on JoJoy are made by independent modders, not by the original developers and not by JoJoy. Our job is to keep the catalog organized and current, and to be clear about what we know and what we don't.

We believe Android users should be able to choose what they install. That choice works best when it is an informed one, so we would rather tell you about a limitation than hide it.

Version, file size, package name and Android requirement are read from the installable file itself and cross-checked against the app's Google Play listing. Each listing also reproduces the Data safety disclosure from Google Play, with a link to the source and the date it was retrieved.

The MOD label describes what the build is labeled to change by its modder. We do not install every build on test devices, so a feature may behave differently from its label, especially after the original app updates. If something on a page looks wrong or out of date, use the Request Update button on that app's page.

When an app gets a new version, its listing is updated with the new file and details, so the page and the download stay in step.

Safety is our primary commitment, and the honest version of that commitment is telling you exactly what we do and don't check. For every listing we compare the package name, version and file size against what the developer declares on Google Play, and we reproduce Google Play's own Data safety disclosure — the permissions requested and the data collected — with a link to the source and the date we retrieved it. We do not run antivirus scans and we do not test each build on physical devices. Absolute '100% safety' does not exist for modified software; keep Play Protect enabled and read its warning before installing anything sideloaded.

Permissions deserve your attention. If a simple utility asks for your microphone, location or contacts without a clear reason, treat that as a reason to stop and look closer before you install. The safety guides on our blog walk through the checks worth doing every time.

A modified build can also behave differently from the official app in battery use and performance. If an app starts heating your phone or draining the battery, remove it and go back to the official version or to a build that worked for you.

Files are delivered through a content delivery network, so downloads stay fast in different regions. A download link is generated for each request and points to the file described on the listing.
